PackMan Productions Unveils HD Unit

ORHSvCHS

Rivalry Thursday executive producer and play-by-play announcer Mark Packer is now broadcasting Thursday night high school football games in his own remote production unit.

Packer purchased the trailer and all equipment this summer, and commissioned former Scripps/HGTV broadcast engineer Bryan Siedschlag to oversee the three-month integration process.

The unit made its debut at the Oak Ridge Wildcats vs. Clinton Dragons game on Thursday, August 18.  Be Media Savvy’s founder, Tim Petree, directed the first broadcast…continuing a relationship with PackMan Sports that began three years ago.

Knoxville CBS affiliate WVLT (where Packer is a sports anchor) aired this preview a few days prior to the first game.

PackMan Productions is poised to take on much bigger projects in the future. The technical specifications are modeled after ESPN’s preferences for live sports production.

The guys in this video (and many more who were not shown) did a phenomenal job of putting the HD production unit together in short order.  Our first game was a great chance to shake out all of the kinks and learn where to improve.

The game ended in an Oak Ridge victory, 56-21, over Clinton.

You watch the games live on MyVLT in Knoxville, TN at 7:00pm every Thursday.  Games also livestream at rivalrythursday.com
